Exploring new markets for engineering exports, industry body EEPC India will participate in the ITM, Poland, a high-tech innovation and technology show to be held in the European nation during June 4-6, this year.
The engineering exporters' body will organise an India show at the ITM with the support of Commerce Ministry. The India Show will draw participation of over 1,000 global exhibitors from 30 countries.
"Engineering manufacturers will showcase our hi-tech capabilities, especially in the areas of energy and transport sectors of railways, shipping and aviation -- which are of special interest to the Polish economy," EEPC India Chairman Anupam Shah said at a seminar on 'Doing Business with Poland'.
The seminar was attended by Ambassador of Poland in India Piotr Klodkowski and President of the Polish Chamber of Commerce Andrzej Arendarski.
The India Show at Poland will help the South-East Asian country's engineering industry to showcase its strength and capabilities in both emerging and developed markets.
While the Polish economy is one of the key economies of the European Union, its bilateral trade engagement with India is quite low.
During 2012-13, India's total exports to Poland were USD 810 million, accounting for just 0.27 per cent of total exports. Likewise, imports from Poland were USD 863 million, accounting for 0.18 per cent of India's imports, EEPC India said.
