While men were thrashed 12-47 by Japan, the women went down 12-39 to China, crashing out of the tournament.
Having lost both their previous matches in Group A, the men's team were playing for pride today. But they could hardly pose a threat to their Japanese counterparts, trailing 6-21 after the first round before losing the second half 6-26.
The men's team will now be playing to avoid wooden spoon on September 28.
The Indians, on the other hand, found the going tough. Greenidge Ducha turned out to be the highest scorer with only three goals out of four shots he took.
Meanwhile, the Indian eves, who did well yesterday to hold Thailand to an exciting tie at 26-26, failed to carry on the momentum against a strong Chinese outfit.
The Indians were trailing 6-20 in the opening 30 minutes and then fell to 6-19 in the second half in their final Group A match at the Suwon Gymnasium here.
The women's team will now be playing for 5th-8th classification place on September 30.
