J-K belongs to people not to NC: BJP

Reacting over Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's statement that NC is sole custodian of the state's honour, BJP today said J-K does not belong to a family or a party but every citizen of the state has the claim over it.
"Jammu and Kashmir does not belong to a family (Abdullahs) or a party (NC) but every citizen has the claim over it and Omar Abdullah is making misleading claims," BJP state spokesperson Arun Kumar Gupta told reporters here.
"Instead of making false claims and misleading statements, Omar should focus on briefing the people as to why corruption touched new heights during his tenure as the chief minister," Gupta said.

He said that the CM should also explain why he failed to come up to the expectations of the people, what did he do for the educated unemployed youths of the state.
Gupta said that Omar has in reality nothing to claim and is fearing defeat in the ensuing elections which is also clear from the fact that he has even left his traditional constituency and opted to file nominations from Sonawar also.
"NC is responsible for the damages caused in the state. Not only NC but PDP and Congress are also equally responsible for the problems and miseries facing the people for decades now," he said.

Gupta said that during the rule of PDP, they also did nothing except making false promises that is why they lost in 2008 election and further alleged that PDP is still trying to mislead people by making false promises.
Attacking the Congress he said Congress is an opportunist party and can shake hands with anyone to remain in power and cannot be trusted. The people are well aware of their dual speak and they have decided to teach it (Congress) a lesson.
Omar, who is the working president of National Conference, had said in an election rally on December 2 that NC was not only the political custodian of state's honour and political individuality but also repository of sacrifices rendered ever since it came into being to fight suppression, autocracy and injustice.
