J&K DGP asks police officers to maintain law and order

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Prasad today asked his officers to maintain close rapport at all levels for better law and order situation in the state.
"Police officers should maintain close rapport at all levels to keep the law and order maintained in the state," the DGP said while chairing a meeting of officers after inspecting PHQ and other moving police establishments which resumed functioning here this morning following the 'Darbar' move.
Prasad was received at the PHQ lawns by senior police officers and was given guard of honour by a contingent of armed police.
He enquired about the progress achieved on different fronts of policing in the state and instructed the officers to maintain close rapport at all levels.

Urging the officers to work with greater zeal for achieving desired results, the DGP said, "Safety and security of the people is our prime concern and efficient measures and deployment should be made to ensure it."
Prasad asked the officers to initiate exercise for the upcoming challenges and said while dealing with the challenges it must be ensured that common people do not face any inconvenience in their day-to-day work.

Later, the DGP visited other moving offices of the organisation including Armed, Home Guard, Police Housing Corporation, CID, Security, Railways and Crime Headquarters.
Interacting with the staff, Prasad stressed upon them to render their duties with zeal, enthusiasm and discipline.

He asked officers to ensure quick disposal of cases related to the welfare of jawans and officers to minimise their hardship.
Earlier, the DGP along with other senior officers visited the Police Martyrs Memorial at Railway Head and laid wreaths.
While inspecting the memorial, he said Rail Head is the gate way of the state and the memorial should give a memorable look to the visitors.
