"40 firms were suspended from trade via Chakkan-Da-Bagh (Poonch) as they did not conduct any trade for more than six months period," said Hamid Sheikh, custodian of Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC), Chakkan-Da-Bagh, Poonch.
"Show cause notices were sent to them individually under registered covers and they did not respond," the TFC officer said.
Their reply was sought again before September 25, as to why the names of their firms should not be struck off from the "List of registered traders of Cross-LoC-trade" from Chakan Da bagh, Poonch, he added.
Trans-LoC trade between J&K and PoK started on October 21, 2008 via Salamabad-Chakoti route in the Valley and via Chakan-Da-Bagh Poonch-Rawalakote from Jammu province.
