J K govt working for development of all communities: Mehbooba

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today said her government was working for the development of all communities in the state.
"Our government is working for the development of all communities," Mehbooba said interacting with several delegations which met her here.
Mehbooba asked the representatives to play their role in the development and growth of the state and its people, an official spokesman said.
The delegation of Pahari community described the decision of granting three per cent reservation to the community as a step to establish the identity of the community which would go a long way in the social, political and economic empowerment of the community, he said.
A deputation of All J&K Pahari Tribe Joint Forum also met the chief minister and thanked her for the reservation to the members of the community, the spokesman said.
He said a deputation of members of Gurduwara Prabandak Committee led by S Janak Singh sought reservation for Sikhs in government jobs, minority status for the community besides some other benefits as may be due to the community.
A deputation from Marwah, Kishtwar sought formulation of a rehabilitation package for the affected people of Burser power project besides introduction of more cellular networks in the region.
The other demands of the deputation included setting up of a packaging unit at Marwah, developing eco tourism in the area, stabilisation of medical and health facilities and improvement in road connectivity in the area, the spokesman said.
He said a deputation of farmers of Jammu also met the chief minister and demanded rationalisation of rates of their productive land.
Deputations from Leh and Kargil demanded setting up of a college at Nubra, opening up of Turtuk to tourism and raised some other issues, the spokesman said.
Several deputations from Langate sought pacing up of developmental process in the constituency, he said.
The spokesman said deputations from Pahalgam and Aishmuqam sought stabilisation of power distribution in the area, improvement in basic facilities and raised other demands.
A deputation from Karnah demanded construction of tunnel at Sadhna Top on the Kupwara-Karnah road, while deputations from Inderwal, Srigufwara, Homeshalibugh, Reasi, Bhaderwah and other areas also met the chief minister and projected their demands.
The chief minister listened to the deputations patiently and assured them to look into their demands in a time bound manner, the spokesman said.
