Javadekar rubbishes Cong allegations that Modi govt indulging

Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar today rubbished Congress allegations that Centre was indulging in politics of vendetta against its leaders by filing cases and instead claimed that it was during the opposition party's rule that attempts were made to frame Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.
Javadekar said that the Congress "appeared to be in panic" after an interview given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was making baseless allegations.
"Congress has alleged that the Modi government is working with a feeling of vendetta and lodging false cases against opponents. Modi ji yesterday made it clear that we have not opened any file," Javadekar, who is also a senior BJP leader told reporters here.

He claimed that the National Herald matter was pending in the court and asked "where is the government at fault in this?"
Referring to the probe against Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Javadekar said that the CBI was looking into the matter. "In the Congress regime, the CBI used to work on its directions but we do not interfere in its functioning," he claimed.
Referring to the matter involving Congress President Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra, Javadekar said that the issue was probed by IAS officer Ashok Khemka, who was then removed.

During Congress regime, attempt was made to suppress the graft cases which came to light like the coal scam, Javadekar said.

In matters like the coal and spectrum scams, the Congress tried to stretch matters rather than act quickly, he alleged.
"The case of Shankar Singh Vaghela is not our work but has been there from earlier times. So Congress should look within that what it did not do to frame Modi ji and Amit Shah. So many lies, but they were uncovered. So Congress today is in panic," Javadekar said hitting back.
Earlier former Union Minister and Congress leader Anand Sharma had alleged that "Intolerance, confrontation and vendetta is part of Prime Minister's DNA and that of his party and the RSS" as he questioned the CBI raids on the residences of former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda in a case of alleged irregularities in acquisition of land in Gurgaon.

He also claimed that the economy was doing better with India being the "brightest spot" globally, but Congress was unwilling to acknowledge this.

The Prime Minister said that one mistake that the government committed was that it did not bring out a white paper to show at what point the Congress had brought the economy, Javadekar said.
He alleged that because of Congress' rule and its policies the Banking sector is facing the problems of NPAs.
He demanded that the Congress should answer the questions raised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"Congress should tell what was the inflation rate during its rule. The inflation rate was 8 per cent and food inflation was 15 per cent. So inflation, corruption, unemployment, NPAs and lack of development were what Congress gave and we are bringing things back on track," Javadekar said.

He said that investment was coming in but Congress was unwilling to see it.
"The world accepts it but not the Congress. To say that the situation is good, a certificate from Congress is not required. Well known rating agencies, organisations do certify that India's economic pace is better. There are structural problems in Europe, China is dealing with its problems, in the US there is growth but has not caught pace. So India is the only bright spot. It seems the Congress is unable to digest this," he added.
