Jaya's special officer to receive petitions in RK Nagar

In an effort to ensure faster rederessal of grievances of people in her RK Nagar constituency, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today said a special officer would visit the constituency every week and receivepetitions from them.
"I have ordered the specialofficer to go to Tondiarpet taluk office in RK Nagar constituency everyTuesday and be present there the whole day and receive petitions fromthe people," she said in a statement here.
"The petitions will be brought to my notice (by the special officer)and appropriate action will be taken," she said.
Outlining the grievance redressal mechanisms already in place, Jayalalithaa said the Chief Minister's Cell functioning in the Secretariat receives petitions from the public.
Besides, there are district-level public grievance cells.
The government has also launched schemes like "Amma call centres," to ensure quick response to people's problems.
In addition to such initiatives, there are over 10,000 e-service centreswhich assists people to access government services in a hassle-free manner, she added.

Referring to the alleged suicides of some of her party workers after she was hospitalised, Jayalalithaa said "I am deeply grieved."
She said: "It is my desire that your (party workers) hard work and loyalty should be for the growth and success of the AIADMK.
