Jharkhand Congress today claimed that the Raghubar Das-led government in the state had made several announcements but miserably failed to deliver on all fronts in its one-year-rule.
The achievements highlighted by the present dispensation in the state on completion of one year in power recently were all untrue, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) chief Sukhdeo Bhagat told reporters here.
It is like "Varsh ek, Jhoot anek (one year, many lies)," Bhagat said.
He claimed only 33 per cent of planned budget had been utilized during one year whereas 68 per cent of it should have been utilized till now.
Besides, the state has been witnessing at least three incidents of rape every day, while criminal cases have risen to 3468 during the period.
247 cases of conflicts and clashes along communal and caste lines were recorded during the period, the Congress leader said while accusing the government of making false claim of zero tolerance on corruption.
Alleging that the state government was being run by a remote control by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah, Bhagat said it was for this reason the chief minister is yet to fill a vacant post in the state cabinet.
On the issue of transfer/posting of officials, he alleged that things were done whimsically. A commissioner-level official, he said, was transferred twice a day while the deputy commissioner of Garwah was transferred five times in a year.
The government had promised to grant ownership rights to people living in 156 slums here for several decades but it made a U-turn on the issue, he said.
Similarly, it had promised to frame a domicile and recruitment policy by December but no action has been taken yet, he added.
