Jharkhand to cooperate with Jagdishpur-Haldia Gas pipeline

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that the state will fully cooperate with the Jagdishpur-Haldia Gas pipeline construction work.
On completion of the work, the country would make a big leap towards clean energy and cheap fuel, an official release said quoting Das.
The aim is to complete the project by 2019, and along with it, city gas distribution work in Ranchi and Jamshedpur would be completed.
Gas would be supplied to households in Ranchi, Jamshedpur and vehicles too would be supplied with pipeline, the release said, adding is also there to finish the work on the Bokaro-Ghamra gas pipeline, the release said.
The chief minister had a discussion about the pipeline with Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Joint Secretary Asish Chatterjee.
Chatterjee said that Jharkhand's share of work on the Jagdishpur-Haldia would begin in July. He also said that 560 km pipeline is being laid in 11 districts of the state.
Under the pipe-line project, Rs 2500 crore investment is being made and that 260 km area will come under Jharkhand from Dobi to Durgapur section, and Jharkhand areas include Hazaribagh, Giridih, Dhanbad, Bokaro and other areas.
Ranchi and Jamshedpur are in the first phase of city gas distribution and other cities will be included in the second phase. CNG and PNG would be provided in the city gas distribution, the release said.
