"Water level in Jhelum which had touched the flood levels at Sangam and Ram Munshi Bagh is showing a declining or static trend," an official spokesman said.
As per hourly readings by the Flood Control Department, the water level at 11.00 am was 22.3 ft at Sangam, 19.5 ft at Ram-Munshi Bagh and at 11.04 ft at Asham.
At 12 noon, the readings were at 22.2 ft at Sangam, 19.5 ft at Ram-Munshi Bagh, and 11.83 ft at Asham.
It receded at Sangam to 21.55 ft at 2 pm but rose to 19.7 ft at Ram-Munshi Bagh and 12 ft at Asham.
By 3 pm, the water levels were at 21.55 ft at Sangam, 19.7 ft at Ram-Munshi Bagh and 12.16 ft at Asham while at 4 pm they were at 21.2 ft, 19.7 ft and 12.15 ft, respectively.
The latest readings at 5 pm showed the levels at 21 ft, 19.7 ft and 12.33 ft at the three places.
