The film is the first collaboration between the newly weds after their 2005 hit 'Mr & Mrs Smith' where they first met.
Jolie has also written the screenplay and doubles up as a a director of movie, reported Entertainment Weekly.
The movie, which is about a crumbling marriage, is irronically the couple's working honeymoon. They got married on August 23 after a nearly decade-long relationship.
The story is set in France during the mid-1970s, Jolie plays Vanessa, a former dancer, and Pitt is her husband Roland, an American writer.
It is Jolie's third directorial venture after 'In The Land of Blood and Honey' and World War II-era drama 'Unbroken'.
