The judges' request to the 12-member jury, comprising nine woman, came after it came to the courtroom yesterday afternoon that they have been unable to reach a unanimous verdict.
The jury in Huntsville had earlier sought to watch the video of the assault, that left Sureshbhai Patel, 58, partially paralysed, during the re-trial of Eric Parker, the cop charged with use of excessive force.
"They(jury) worked through lunch, ordering steak out as they discussed the various aspects of the case. After that lunch, the jury came to the courtroom to tell the judge that they have been unable to reach a unanimous verdict," the news channel reported.
If proved guilty, Parker faces 10 years of imprisonment. Sureshbhai is still undergoing treatment from the brutal assault of force against him, simply because he could not respond to the call from the police officer - Parker - as he did not understand English. Parker has been suspended.
