While actor Apoorva Agnihotri and model Kartik Jobanputra approached the court today, six other accused, who were tested positive for alleged consumption of drugs, had moved the special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court with similar plea earlier this week, and were granted relief from arrest till July 6.
They included actor Amit Gaur, Supratik Roy, fashion designer Rakesh Singhvi alias Rocky S, former cricketer Bishen Singh Bedi's son Angad Bedi; two DJs Deepesh Sharma and Rakesh Sharma.
Jobanputra's name had first cropped up during the investigation of model Viveka Babajee suicide case, in which he secured a pre-arrest relief.
Jobanputra's advocate Laxman Kanal said that his anticipatory bail will come up for hearing tomorrow, while, that of Agnihotri's on July 6.
Police Commissioner Arup Patnaik had said that 44 out of 92 people, who were rounded up from the plush hotel on May 20, have tested positive.
44 out of 46 males were tested positive, he had said.
The results of the other 46 people, including two IPL cricketers Wayne Parnell and Rahul Sharma (both played for Pune Warriors India) and 38 women, are awaited.
According to Patnaik, among the 44 who tested positive so far, 27 had consumed cannabis, one had MDMA (better known as Ecstasy, a drug usually taken in pill form) while 16 consumed both the drugs.
92 people, including foreigners, were picked up on May 20 after police raided hotel Oakwood, following specific inputs about the presence of drugs at the party. They were let off after their urine and blood samples were taken.
A day after the raid, police had also arrested Vishay Handa, the director of the hotel, under the NDPS Act. He was later granted bail by the special NDPS court.
