Juvenile offender in good health after treatment for Bullet

: Police today informed Madras High court that the wounds of the juvenile who suffered bullet injuries when an Inspector's gun accidentally went off while cleaning it last month has healed and he is fit for discharge.
Inspector of Police (Law and order) M S Bhaskar of Nelangarai Police Station stated in a status report before the division bench, comprising Justices S Rajeswaran and P N Prakash in response to a Haebeas Corpus Petition by the boy's mother to produce him in court.
The report said the boy, who was allegedly involved in several cases of temple hundial thefts, was arrested on Jan 6.
It said the gun of another inspector of the same police station went off accidentally after it fell to the ground while he was cleaning it and trying to keep it inside his pouch. He was in the process of securing an accused in connection with a a case.
On seeing the injury, the inspector, along with the detenu rushed to a hospital and the boy was admitted in an icu. It said the incident was informed to higher ranked police officials, the boy's mother and relatives, who were brought to the Hospital.
