To protest against long spells of power cuts, resulting in losses for the industry, the city traders association has called a day-long strike on August 27.
Around 25,000 shop owners of 180 traders associations have given their support for the strike and will shut down their shops on August 27, Industry Traders Association Convener Shyam Bihari Mishra said.
According to Mishra, power outages of 10-12 hours in the city have affected their business and industry is facing losses due to it.
Various kirana traders will also participate in the strike, Kirana Traders Association's Rakesh Agrawal said.
