Karman, Prarthana get singles wild cards for Delhi Open

National Junior champion Karman Kaur Thandi and Prarthna Thombare, Asian Games bronze medallist in doubles, were today awarded singles wild card entries for the USD 25,000 ITF women's singles event of the Delhi Open, starting Monday.
Sowjanya Bavisetti has also been given a wild card entry to the singles main draw on the request of the sponsors, according to a Delhi lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) release.
Prerna Bhambri had earned the wild card by winning the national championship in October 2014, so in all at least four Indian girls are set to play in the second edition of the Delhi Open.
DLTA had also awarded wild cards in the USD 100,000 men's event to Yuki Bhambri, Saketh Myneni and Karunuday Singh.
