Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of 0.3 degree Celsius, over three notches up from the previous night's minus 3.3 degrees Celsius, an official of the MeT Department here said.
Kupwara and Gulmarg received light rainfall, the MeT official said.
Qazigund, the gateway town to Kashmir Valley, recorded a low of minus 5.6 degrees Celsius, up by almost three notches from minus 8.4 degrees Celsius the previous night.
The mercury in the tourist resort of Pahalgam increased by over six notches to settle at a low of minus 3.2 degrees Celsius as against minus 10.0 degrees Celsius the previous night, the MeT official said.
The mercury in Kokernag, in south Kashmir, went up by over five notches from the previous night's minimum of minus 9.2 degrees Celsius to settle at a low of minus 3.7 degrees Celsius last night.
Kupwara, in north Kashmir, recorded a low of 1.8 degree Celsius, as against the previous night's minus 0.8 degrees Celsius, she said.
The official said Leh, in the frontier region of Ladakh, recorded a low of minus 10.0 degrees Celsius, over two notches up from the previous night's minus 12.8 degrees Celsius.
The MeT Department said light to moderate rainfall or snowfall can occur at few places in the state today and there would be rise in night temperatures over the next few days.
