Kejriwal asks Birla to withdraw windscreen damage complaint

The controversy over the alleged attack on Delhi minister Rakhi Birla's car, which saw police claiming that the vehicle's windscreen was accidentally damaged by a cricket ball and not stones, finally ended today with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asking the former to withdraw her complaint.
"I have asked Birla to withdraw her complaint," Kejriwal told reporters today.
Kejriwal today met the family of the boy who had struck the ball which accidentally damaged the Women and Child Development Minister's car following reports that they had shifted to another residence out of anxiety following the lodging of the complaint.
"I had sent some of our AAP volunteers to bring them here to my office... I was concerned. I met them today and... Told them there is nothing to be afraid of," he said.

The 11-year-old boy and his family had, along with their landlord, come to meet Kejriwal in the evening today.
Birla (26) had lodged a complaint at Mangolpuri police station on January 5 stating that someone had thrown a stone at her windscreen while she was returning from a function in the area.
However, it was later revealed that the windscreen of the car was hit by a cricket ball while a group of boys were playing in the area.
