Kejriwal's name was proposed by his close aide Manish Sisodia and was overwhelmingly endorsed by the meeting.
Addressing the meeting of the party's newly-elected MLAs at the Constitution Club after AAP's spectacular victory in assembly poll, the chief minister-in-waiting warned the legislators against showing arrogance which he said was responsible for the defeat of both Congress and BJP.
In a landslide victory, AAP secured 67 of the 70 seats of Delhi Assembly in the counting of votes held today.
"He (Kejriwal) said, the Congress was reduced to zero because of its arrogance....The BJP at the Centre does not have any major scam against it but it was also their arrogance that led to their defeat in the election.
Kejriwal asked the MLAs to work to fulfill the promises made by the party, Adarsh Shastri, AAP MLA from Dwarka, said.
