Describing Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as someone who tries to gain publicity out of his simple ways, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today said success can go to a person's head if he or she doesn't have the capability to deal with failure.
"When Arvind Kejriwal started making publicity of his simple ways, people started talking about my own simplicity. But I feel that simplicity should not be for publicity...
"If a person wants to become successful, he should have the power to absorb failure. Else success tends to go to the head," Parrikar said.
He was speaking at the inaugural session of golden jubilee conference of the state unit of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), BJP's student wing, here.
In the last 15-20 years, barons who have turned education into business have mushroomed in Maharashtra, he noted.
"This is the reason why students get only printed degrees (not real education)... People are studying further and further for jobs. I have seen students studying upto PhD level. The question then arises how do you find a groom for a PhD-holder bride," he said in jest.
He also said that India needs to become strong not to pick flaws of other countries, but to ensure that no country dares to cast "evil eye" at India.
