Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today hailed the apex court's verdict on NJAC as "landmark" and one that would "thwart" the Centre's attempt to control judiciary.
Kejriwal took to twitter hours after the Supreme Court struck down as unconstitutional the National Judicial Appointments Commission (NJAC) Act.
He said the judgement "thwarted" the government's attempt to control judiciary. Earlier, AAP said it established that judiciary is "paramount" and termed it as a "great blow" to NDA government.
"NJAC judgement is landmark. SC has thwarted govt's attempt to control judiciary," Kejriwal tweeted.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal also took a swipe at his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal Khattar over the latter's reported comments that Muslims can live in the country but will have to give up eating beef.
"Few people are perturbed by what others eat. They don't think about the fact that in this country many people don't get to eat anything," Kejriwal said.
The AAP demanded Khattar's sacking saying his remarks were a blow to the country's secular fabric and asked for a criminal case to be registered against him.
