"In a highly competitive field in the full marathon of 42.2 kilometers, Isaac Kemboi won the Men's Full Marathon and Simta Sharma won the women's Full Marathon," a release here said.
Kemboi clocked the entire distance in 02:37:39, followed by Nagesh Pawar (02:37:56) and N Jagadeshan (02:40:18).
Sharma took 3 hours and 34 minutes to emerge victorious in the Women's Full Marathon.
"The conditions in Chennai have been quite humid which was the only challenge but on the whole the marathon was very well organised and I am delighted to have participated and won," Kemboi was quoted as saying.
"I intend to better my previous records in both the half and full marathons in future races," she was quoted as saying.
