Congress today slammed the Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP government in Haryana by describing it as "inexperinced" due to which people are facing "inconvience."
"An inexperinced government in Haryana has become the cause of inconvience to people in the state," state party head Ashok Tanwar said.
He said that the "incorrect decisions" of the government has been the cause of "inconvienece" to people in the state.
"In the past year the government has failed to do anything worth for the people of state. The elected representatives of BJP are befooling the people rather than doing anything on ground," he said.
"Employees are being thrown out of jobs by the government and it is adopting double standards on problems of farmers," he said.
The government has "no concrete solution" to bail out peasantry from the existing "farm crisis", he said.
On the state government's decision to impose minimum education qualifications for contesting village polls, he said "it is a mockery of democracy."
"It is an old habit of BJP to play with the established democratic and constitutional institutions," he said.
"With the decision of the Apex court, dalits and females will be benefitted the most," he said.
The BJP government is Haryana is trying way outs to run away from facing the peoples' court by going to polls with a "rider", he said.
The Haryana State Election Commission has put on hold the model code of conduct that came into force with the announcement of panchayat elections on September 8, in the wake of Supreme Court hearing the petition pertaining to the validity of education qualifications for contesting the village polls.
He said that the people of the state are "confused" by the working of the BJP government in Haryana.
Notably, the State Election Commission had issued the programme for the conduct of general elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in the state on September 8. According to the programme, the elections of PRIs were to be conducted in three phases -- October 4, 11 and 18.
Haryana government on Tuesday had told the Supreme Court that it would be "inappropriate" at the moment to tweak the minimum educational criteria fixed by a recent amendment in state election law for candidates to contest panchayat polls.
The court has fixed the petition for final hearing on October 7 and asked the Haryana government to file its response within ten days (from September 22).
