Union Minister Salman Khurshid today slammed Narendra Modi for invoking a Kargil martyr's phrase "Yeh Dil Maange More" to garner votes for NDA.
He alleged that it has hurt the sentiments of the martyr's family and termed it disgraceful for those who were fielding a contestant against such a brave martyr's mother in the elections.
"Shame on those who are even fielding a candidate to contest against a martyr's mother, I may even give my life, but there are some who don't even want to withdraw themselves from the elections, if I would have been asked then I may have even offered my life to such a brave martyr's mother rather than just withdrawing from elections against her," Khurshid said.
While addressing a rally in Dulhipur area in the district Khurshid took a jibe at BJP's prime ministerial candidate and said that after getting a befitting reply from Priyanka Gandhi he got perturbed and started repeating "Yeh Dil maange more".
He said Modi had said later in the evening that it was painful for him too and he would rather quit politics than hurting the sentiments of a martyr's family by using the phrase.
"I was waiting next morning that Modi will quit politics but he didn't," the minister said and added forget quitting they cant even withdraw the candidate against the martyrs mother.
Batra's mother Kamal Kant Batra is an Aam Aadmi party candidate from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh.
