Killing of Indian soldiers sad and shameful: John Abraham

"I don't think I can comment on what is happening at the border, except that it is a very sad thing. Our jawans are dying. It is sad and shameful. I hope every citizen stands up for it," John said.

"People are dying for us. And we have people in our own country who are fighting wars on religion. The bad thing is we are winning political battles only on religion," he added.

He was present at an event relating to Mumbai Marathon in suburban Mumbai.

"It's been seven years I have been part of Standard Chartered Marathon. I enjoy being part of it. This year again I am the brand ambassador, it feels great," the actor said.

"I am the brand ambassador of Mumbai Marathon because it stands for Mumbai and supports more than 220 NGOs. For me doing social work and supporting NGOs is more important than endorsing a brand," he said.

John has a number of films lined up this year including Abbas-Mustan's multi starrer action-thriller 'Race 2' (Releasing January 25), Goldie Behl's 'I, Me Aur Main', a romance drama alongside Prachi Desai and Chitrangada Singh (March 1) and Sanjay Gupta's real life crime drama film 'Shootout at Wadala' (May 1).

"I am really excited about all the three films," John said.

When asked, the actor said that he was sporting a rugged look for his next upcoming home production 'Madras Caf
