Krish gets the better of Wadhwa to clinch U-19 boys' title

West Bengal's Krish Kapur overcame Maharashtra's Harshvardhan Wadhwa to clinch the Under-19 boys' title in the two-Star Matunga Gymkhana All India Junior Open squash tournament here today.
Kapur got the better of Wadhwa 11-9 11-4 12-14 11-3 to win the title.
Giant killer Tushar Shahani, who upset second seed Aryaman Adik in the semi-finals, stunned top seed Abhay Singh of Tamil Nadu 12-10 12-10 10-12 6-11 11-9 in the most absorbing championship round to claim the boys under-17 title.
Maharashtra's Shahani, seeded way down at 9/16, lived dangerously after winning the first two sets over extra points and dropping the third and fourth, until he snatched the decider by a whisker.
Tamil Nadu's Navneet Prabhu clinched his first title this year when he overcame his state rival Shreemann Raghavan 11-6 11-5 11-6 in the boys under-13 category.
Second seed Parthiv Yagnesh of Tamil Nadu halted the winning streak of Delhi's Jaivir Singh Dhillon 11-7 5-11 6-11 11-5 11-7 in another thriller, to win the boys under-11 crown.
Maharashtra's Aishwarya Khubchandani stunned second seed and India No. 6 Aryaa Ogale 12-14 11-8 11-7 11-6 to snatch the girls under-13 crown.
