Labour contractor murdered

A local labour contractor was
shot dead after being stabbed at Kulpi in South 24 Parganas district today.
Police said Sahajel Mollah was shot at from close range by four-five miscreants who also stabbed him fatally at an open field near his home.
Mollah, who used to supply labourers for construction works in the locality, had recently joined Trinamool Congress, police said.
Police were investigating if the murder was related to the Rs 40,000 monetary dispute Mollah had with a business partner.
