The "Poker Face' hitmaker officially dropped the song "Till It Happens to You" on itunes. She recorded it for the documentary "The Hunting Ground", reported Ace Showbiz.
The film, which centres on rape culture in college campuses across the US, debuted back in January.
The ballad was also shared online via Gaga's Vevo channel along with its accompanying music video.
The five-minute clip opens with a warning of its "graphic content" before giving glimpses at some young women getting sexually assaulted and how their lives are affected by the attack.
