The three-year-contract was signed here today and will see Lahiri promote the IT company, HGS, which has clients in US. He will especially be useful when he appears in events on PGA Tour in 2016.
The currently top golfer in Asia, Lahiri, who leads the Asian Tour Order of Merit by a massive margin and cannot be overtaken, will serve as the company's first Brand Ambassador in the international market.
He added, "I believe that the key factors for consistent success on the golf course are adaptability, innovation and execution. It is therefore an honor to represent HGS, which has exemplified these traits in the their industry through the years. As I continue to grow in my career, I look forward to partnering with them in their journey to achieve aggressive growth globally."
DeSarkar, a keen golfer himself added that he had been following Lahiri's progress and made up his mind even before he had secured his PGA Tour card.
"I was confident that he would. I watched him at the Masters and then followed his progress through the year."
"That was my best moment of the year, finishing fifth at Whistling Straits," said Lahiri.
He is now ranked 41st in the world and is likely to stay on in Top-50 at the end of the year and that will give him a spot at the Masters, where he made the cut this year and all other Majors.
He said, "I am now looking forward to next week's event in Bahamas and will then strengthen my knee over the next four weeks and take some rest."
