Propagandist singer of the ultra-Left arts and literary outfit "Makkal Kalai Ilakkiya Kazhagam," the 54-year-old activist invited the DMK leadership to participate in a public meeting to be held next month against the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation chain of liqour retail outlets.
He told reporters that the work of his outfit "against liqour and a TASMAC-free Tamil Nadu" would continue. "We will intensify our activities against liqour," he said.
He said leaders of political parties sans the AIADMK and BJP were being invited for the public meeting proposed to be held next month against liqour.
He was arrested in Tiruchirapalli on October 30. Later, he got relief from the Madras High Court against an order of police custody by a lower court.
Recently, Tamil Nadu government moved the Supreme Court seeking two-day police custody of Kovan challenging High Court's relief to him.
