Lalu, Pappu Yadav, two Bihar ministers chargesheeted

Separate chargesheets were today filed against RJD President Lalu Prasad, Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) founder Pappu Yadav for allegedly creating law and order problems, as also against Bihar ministers Lalan Singh and P K Shahi who were accused of violating of model code during Legislative Council polls.
Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vikas Vaibhav said, "Separate chargesheets have been filed in the district court against Prasad and his party leaders, Yadav and his supporters, Singh and Shahi. FIR against them were registered in July and August under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC)."
The chargesheet against Prasad also includes 262 persons including his son Tej Pratap, state RJD president Ram Chandra Purve, General Secretary Mundrika Singh Yadav and MLA Aniruddh Yadav.

All these RJD leaders and workers were booked during the Bihar bandh on July 27 and an FIR was registered at Kotwali police station in the state capital under IPC sections 147 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 341 (wrongful restraint), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of duty, 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from discharge of duty), 431 (mischief by injury to public road), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation).
The RJD sponsored Bihar bandh had disrupted normal life in Bihar and also hit the functioning of Patna High Court as several of its judges got stuck in road blockades sprung by bandh enforcers.

It had led to High Court expressing its displeasure to the state government and questioning it security preparedness and measures taken in view of the bandh. Following it, Prasad and his supporters were arrested. They were later released on bail.
