Launch of IRNSS-1D onboard PSLV-C27 on Mar 28: ISRO chief

India's fourth navigation satellite IRNSS-1D, whose March 9 lift-off was postponed following some anomaly, will be launched onboard PSLV C-27 on March 28 from Sriharikota as per the new schedule, ISRO Chairman A S Kiran Kumar said today.
The spacecraft is one among the seven of the IRNSS constellation of satellites slated to be launched to provide navigational services.
"IRNSS-1D will be launched onboard PSLV-C27 as per schedule at 5.19 PM on March 28 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota," he told reporters at the airport.
The satellite will be placed in geosynchronous orbit.
Due to anomaly, ISRO postponed IRNSS-1D launch earlier scheduled for March 9.

The fresh schedule was announced by ISRO in a post on its Facebook page on March 23.

On Mangalyan mission, Kumar said it has been extended for six more months as it has enough fuel.
The Mars orbiter completed six months of orbiting around the Red Planet yesterday.
On September 24, 2014, India successfully placed the low cost Mars spacecraft in orbit around the red planet.
