The strike, called by the Co-ordination Committee of All District Court Bar Associations of Delhi, affected work in the six district courts -- Patiala House, Karkardooma, Tis Hazari, Saket, Dwarka and Rohini.
The spokesperson for the committee, Sanjeev Nasiar, claimed that in the new building plan, there was "no provision for lawyers' chambers (and) the decision of shifting was taken unilaterally."
The committee also demanded that there should be no further bifurcation of other courts.
A delegation of the lawyers also met the chief justice of Delhi High Court, Justice G Rohini, and some other judges with their demands.
"Justice Rohini assured us no decision will be taken without having any discussion with the leaders of the committee," Nasiar said.
