Lt Governor Anil Baijal has approved the CBI's request to prosecute former deputy secretary in the Chief Minister's office Tarun Sharma in a graft case involving Arvind Kejriwal's former principal secretary Rajendra Kumar.
"The sanction has been given to CBI to prosecute Tarun Sharma in connection with a corruption case," sources said.
The move comes days after the Centre gave sanction to CBI to prosecute Rajendra Kumar. CBI had filed charge sheet against him in December last year.
CBI had registered a case against Kumar, Sharma and others in December 2015 alleging they had abused their official position by "favouring a particular firm in the last few years in getting tenders of Delhi government departments".
