Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal has transfered Women and Child Development Secretary Dilraj Kaur, whose appointment as Member Secretary of Delhi Commission for Women by his predecessor Najeeb Jung was disputed by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Kaur, a 2000 batch IAS officer, has been posted as Additional Commissioner in South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).
She has been replaced by IAS officer Garima Gupta as DCW Member Secretary. At present Gupta is the Director-cum-Special Secretary (higher education).
Senior IAS officer Anil Kumar Singh,
Secretary-cum-Commissioner (labour), will hold additional charge as secretary (social welfare and women and child development) till further notice.
Earlier, Kaur had been at loggerheads with the DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal over payment of salaries to the DCW staff.
Maliwal had alleged that the IAS officer was trying to "derail" the commission's work even as a struggle continued between Kaur and P P Dhal, the AAP government's appointee to the post of DCW member secretary.
