Two police constables were booked for their alleged involvement in the youth's death, police said.
"We have registered an FIR under section 302 against the two constables," IG (Law and Order) RK Vishkarma told reporters in Lucknow.
Anuj alias Mintu (24), who went to his sister's house in Ailau, was taken to some unknown place yesterday by two constables Sudhir and Tahar Singh, he said.
This morning, villagers spotted his body in a pond beside Jagir-Bhanwant road which resulted to the chaos, the IG said.
Locals also blocked roads till District Magistrate V K Pawar and SP Shrikant rushed to the spot and promised action against the duo, he said adding, the body has been sent for post mortem.
