Acting on an order of the Allahabad High Court, police today lodged an FIR against former Uttar Pradesh minister Awadh Pal Singh, his MLC brother, son and six others in a triple murder case of 2010.
The case was lodged at the Jaithara police station here, and will be investigated by CB-CID, police said.
On June 10 in 2010, jeweller Vijay Verma, his son Mithun and security guard Sunil were shot dead in Jaithara village.
On August 5, 2011, the CJM's court here had ordered police to register a case against Singh, a minister in the previous BSP-led government, and his family members.
Etah Police, however, did not comply with the order after which Vijay's son Sonu had approached the high court in this regard.
On August 30 this year, a division bench of Justices Ravindra Singh and Anil Kumar Agrawal had directed police to comply with a lower court's order and register a case against Singh, his brother, son and others in the murder case.
The high court, in its order, had directed the Etah SSP to ensure compliance with the CJM's order.
