Earlier this month, Lufthansa started first commercial operations of the fuel efficient A350-900 aircraft to the national capital.
From April 16 onwards, Mumbai would become the third destination worldwide to welcome the aircraft, Lufthansa said in a release today.
The Group operates 60 flights to and from India per week.
The Lufthansa A350-900 is configured with 293 seats, including 224 in the Economy Class.
Compared with similar types of aircraft, A350-900 consumes 25 per cent less fuel, produces 25 per cent fewer emissions and the noise is around 50 per cent less.
In the Asia-Pacific region, the Lufthansa Group flies to 18 destinations in eight countries.
