Magnitude-6.2 earthquake recorded off New Zealand coast

A magnitude-6.2 earthquake has been recorded off the coast of New Zealand.
The US Geological Survey says the quake struck shortly before 1930 GMT today and was centered 219 kilometers northwest of Auckland Island and 1182.87 kilometers southwest of Wellington. It was at a depth of 9.9 kilometers.
There was no immediate tsunami alert from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
