Mamata condemns terror attack on Bangladesh

Condemning the terror attack in Bangladesh, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said terrorists have no religion and everybody should unite to fight against terrorism.
"We condemn the act of terror in Bangladesh. We share their pain and agony and stand beside Bangladesh. Both West Bengal and Bangladesh share a deep cultural and humanitarian bond.
"If Bangladesh is happy then we are happy, if they are sad then we are also sad. On that night (when terrorists carried out the attack in Bangladesh), I had kept track of the happenings in Bangladesh," Banerjee said in the state Assembly.
"We don't comment on matters concerning other countries. We can't interfere in matters of other countries. Our administration had alerted the bordering police stations. There are still places in the Indo-Bangladesh border where there is no fencing," she said.

Banerjee appealed to the people that they should inform the police if they come across any suspicious people.
Referring to BJP state president Dilip Ghosh's comments of stopping Moitree Express if attack on minorities do not stop in Bangladesh, Banerjee said such statements should not be made.
"How can you make such comments that Moitree Express will be stopped.? Such kind of decisions are taken by the central government and not by any political party. Moitree Express has no relation with terrorism. We should not make such comments which hamper relations between the two countries. We should remember that terrorists have no religion," she said.
