Terming Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee as the "most opportunist", the CPI(M) today alleged that she was paving way for BJP in the state.
"Despite her stand on secularism, Mamata is entirely responsible for paving way for the BJP in West Bengal. How can she deny her hobnobbing with the BJP? Now she preaches secularism," Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly Surjya Kanta Mishra said while addressing a rally here.
Campaigning for their candidate from Jadavpur Parliamentary constituency Sujan Chakraborty, Mishra said the Left parties never allowed communal forces to enter the state, but their attempt was foiled by the TMC supremo.
"She is the most opportunist and always took sides either with the BJP or the Congress for political gains," Mishra said.
"Mamata is more dangerous than the Congress and in less than three years, she has ruined the state with her party dictatorship," he alleged.
"Corruption and nepotism is at its height during her rule with scams starting from Saradha chitfund to Trident spilling out," the CPI(M) Politburo member said.
"She never allows anybody to raise voice against her and this is proved as no judge has been appointed as the head of state Human Rights Commission," Mishra said.
"Mamata is afraid of facing any judgement against her and that is why she resorted to all attempts in putting her own men at all important posts," he said.
"Whenever any official tried to work impartially taking action against injustice or corruption, she immediately removed the person from the post instead of standing beside the official," he said.
Mishra said the state was yet to witness any real development activity during Mamata's rule, while the non-plan expenditure was going rapidly.
"With her autocratic rule, even the opposition parties are entirely deprived of their democratic rights in the state," he said alleging that the recent panchayat elections and civic polls were entirely rigged to isolate them.
Mishra appealed to people to cast their votes in favour of Left Front candidates to defeat TMC, Congress and BJP in the state.
