Rajya Sabha member and leading journalist Swapan Dasgupta Tuesday sought to know West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's viewson the statement made by National Conference leader Omar Abdullah on J&K having a separate prime minister and wondered whether she supports it.

"National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah was present during the January 19 rally by Mamata Banerjee. I would like to ask her what is her view reagrding Omar Abdullah's recent statement demanding a separate prime minister for Jammu and Kashmir.

"Does she support that statement? If yes what are her views on it, if no then what is her view," Dasgupta, who is affiliated to BJP, said.

Omar Abdullah had on Monday said that NC will strive hard to restore the autonomy of Jammu and Kashmir that could include having a president and a Prime Minister.

The statement, which was made at a rally at Bandipore in north Kashmir, had evoked sharp condemnation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP favours repealing of Article 370 of Constitution which gives that state special status.

Dasgupta along with West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh posed questions at a press conference here on Banerjee and her party, the TMC's manifesto.

He referred to the promise in the TMC manifesto of reviving the Planning Commission and a review of the GST if voted to power and wondered whether the party wanted to create a scope for evasion of taxes which has been tapped by the introduction of GST.

"In the present form of GST we have seen a huge increase in tax collection which has helped all the states including West Bengal. But she (Banerjee) is saying she will review GST. Is she trying to make a scope for tax evasion?" he said.

Later speaking to reporters, Ghosh said the opposition alliance is a "rudderless boat" which does not have any proper leader.

"On one hand you have Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is the BJP PM candidate. But who is the PM candidate of opposition alliance?" Ghosh asked.
