Man arrested for looting Rs 6 lakh from shop

A man, who allegedly stole around Rs 6 lakh from a shop, was arrested today from Kanak Mandi area here, police said.
According to SP City North S K Chouhan, "We received a complaint from Atul Sharma, a businessman in the Kanak Mandi area, that an amount of Rs 6.10 lakh was stolen from his shop yesterday."
A police team was constituted to investigate the case and they noticed suspicious activities of one of the employee of the businessman, they said.
"The police team noticed suspicious activities of one of the employee of the businessman and we picked him for questioning, following which he confessed to the crime. We also recovered the stolen amount from Akhnoor area," he said.

The accused was booked under various sections of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) and investigations started have been initiated in the case, he added.
