Man axes brother, sister-in-law to death; arrested

A man allegedly axed his elder brother and sister-in-law to death at Lansdowne area of Pauri district here over personal enmity, following which he was arrested, police said today.
Surendra Singh allegedly attacked the couple, Prem Singh Rawat (62) and Sulochona Devi (57), with an axe yesterday, killing them on the spot, they said.
He then attempted to kill their daughter-in-law Reena, but she saved herself by hiding at the house of her neighbour, police said.
The accused has been arrested and effort is on to trace the weapon used, said Lansdowne SDM Sohan Singh.
