Man gets 10-year jail term for killing wife

A local court today sentenced a man to ten years in jail for killing his wife for dowry last year.
District and Sessions judge Santprakash also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on Mahendra.
Neelam got married to Mahendra five years ago and they had a 3-year-old child, according to the prosecution.
According to the complaint filed in Kotwali police station, Neelam was tortured by her in-laws and last year she was found hanging in her house.
It was alleged that she beaten and hanged to death by her husband in March last year.
The judge also directed that if the convict fails to pay the penalty, he will spend two months more in jail.
