A special POCSO court here has sentenced a 80-year-old man to five years imprisonment for sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl in 2014.
Special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court Judge Girish Kumar Agrawal on Friday also imposed a fine of Rs 35,000 on Mangilal Dhakad.
Dhakad, a resident of Chechat, had sexually assaulted the girl on March 5, 2014, Public Prosecutor Kamalkant Sharma told the court.
He was found guilty under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and provisions of the POCSO Act, he said.
Statements of at least eight witnesses were recorded during the four-year trial, the public prosecutor said.
