Twenty-two-year-old Rohit Pal's body was found with bullet injuries in his head and stomach yesterday, they said.
During an investigation, his friends and family were questioned. It was found that Pal and his friend Harish were consuming liquor, the police said.
When Pal and Harish saw Ravi Solanki and his friend passing by on a motorcycle, they stopped them and asked for money to buy liquor, they added.
They took out his motorcycle's keys and held him and demanded money. Pal got into a scuffle with Solanki, who fired at him, the police said.
"It was also found that Pal and Solanki knew each other and were involved in criminal activities till 2014. However, Solanki turned over a new leaf and started working in a company that used to provide money to people," the police said.
Pal was upset with Solanki for this reason and used to trouble him, they said.
