The police seized 330 fake notes in denomination of Rs 2,000 from him. Based on a tipoff, a team of Special Cell arrested Kashid, 54, near the ISBT on November 16, said PK Kushwah, DCP (Special Cell).
"High quality FICN numerically amounting to Rs 6.60 lakh were recovered from him. 250 of the recovered FICN bear a single serial number and other 80 are also of only four serial number," Kushwah said.
He was involved with the fake currency racket for the past 15 years and was a member of an international gang that routed FICN from Malda in West Bengal, to other parts of the country including Delhi, UP and Bihar, the officer said.
