70-year-old Landan, a farmer, was shot dead at Gahari village in Shamli on April 27 and his son, Mohd Aas, had accused his brother-in-law Lal Mohd of the crime, police said.
However, during probe it was found that Lal Mohd was innocent and Aas was the culprit, Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma told reporters.
The SP claimed the Aas has confessed to killing his father with the motive of implicating his brother-in-law due to enmity.
